Sloppy Joe’s

Outdoor picnic time is here! This is a great home made Sloppy Joe recipe. I’ve even had requests for it…so here ya go! (psst…We think these even taste good in Winter too!   :-) )

Sloppy Joes
2 lb. ground beef, browned
1/2 large green pepper diced
1 1/2 c. ketchup
3 tsp. yellow mustard
1 (8oz) can tomato sauce
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
2 tsp. Worchester sauce
1 or 2 tsp. garlic salt (optional)
1 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. onion salt
1 Cup water
Add all ingredients to browned ground beef. Simmer at least 30 minutes.

I try to make these a day ahead as the flavors really come together sitting overnight. Also, I sometimes add more water depending on how thick/thin it seems. This doubles & triples easily too.

Enjoy!

  1. I am so going to make this! That I can make it a day ahead is perfect-- we are eating on the fly so much right now with baseball season that finding time to cook is tough. Thanks for sharing! :)
